The Artisans Guild was formed in 1996. The goal from the start was to support the arts locally and provide a forum for area artists to meet professionally and share their knowledge. As well as to provide opportunities to exhibit, show and market the works of the membership.
Through the Artisans Guild Founders Fund the guild works to encourage creativity in the Eastern Shore community. Recent projects include the establishment of a photo studio at the Historic Onancock School. The guild provides training to members for the use of this equipment and offers the opportunity for members to photograph their artwork for publication, marketing and web use. The room is also available for members to use for workshops and meetings.
The guild looks now and in the future to foster growth in the arts on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
The Artisans Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Virginia Corporation.
